Current
ASHI Approvals...
The
ASHI accreditation system consists of three essential components;
approval, authorization, certification, and discipline.
Approval:
ASHI permits eligible individuals and organizations to offer its
programs as a Basic or Advanced Training CenterSM. Eligibility is
determined by review of an application and application is associated
with fees. The comprehensive applications for Basic or Advanced
Training Centers may be downloaded from the ASHI website, http://www.ashiinstitute.com/.
Authorization:
ASHI permits qualified instructors to teach its programs according
to professional standards of conduct including the Standards and
Guidelines for Quality Assurance that are described in ASHI.s Training
Center Administrative Manual. Only instructors authorized by ASHI
can teach ASHI programs and certify students. All ASHI Instructors
must be affiliated with an ASHI approved Training Center.
Certification:
ASHI authorized instructors certify students have successfully completed
an ASHI program according to the Standards and Guidelines for Quality
Assurance that are described in ASHI.s Training Center Administrative
Manual. Program standards include Course Prerequisites, Course Materials,
Initial & Renewal Instruction Time, Student to Instructor Ratios,
Student to Manikin Ratio, Testing Process, and Certification Period.
The
term "certification" means verification that the student
has met the cognitive and psychomotor skill objectives of the course
- qualifying them to receive the ASHI Certification Card. Certification
does not guarantee future performance, nor imply licensure or clinical
competency. Verification of competency is the role of public health
licensing agencies, medical specialty boards, and hospitals.
Discipline:
ASHI may deny, revoke, suspend or terminate the Training Center
approval or Instructor authorization of an individual or entity
that does not comply with ASHI.s Training Center Administrative
Manual. The principal grounds for discipline is evidence of:
|
a)
Serious violations of the Training Center Agreement and/or the
Instructor Application.
b)
Dishonest, unethical, or unprofessional conduct; such as issuing
unearned program completion cards, slander, or cultural, physical,
racial, gender, age, or sexual bias
c)
Fraudulent or illegal actions, such as discrimination, forgery,
misrepresentation, unauthorized duplication of copyrighted training
materials. These actions may also result in criminal and/or civil
legal actions.
